Terms of Use
Last updated: October 18, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of uSAFE Money Manager (the “Service”), operated by uSAFE Money Manager (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Description of the Service
uSAFE Money Manager is a financial-tracking and bookkeeping application that lets you record transactions, import bank and credit card statements (CSV, Excel or PDF), set budgets, track bills and loans, view reports, and share read-only access to selected sections of your data with people you invite. It also offers business workspaces with receipt scanning, categorization suggestions, tax summaries and exports, team access, and an accountant portal for accountants who manage several clients. Personal use is free; business workspaces and the accountant portal are offered on the plans described in Section 6. The Service does not connect to any bank or financial institution, does not initiate payments between you and any financial institution, and does not hold, transmit, or move your funds of any kind.
2. Not financial, tax, or legal advice
The Service is a self-directed record-keeping and organizational tool only. Nothing in the Service, and no content, report, chart, or output it generates, constitutes financial, investment, accounting, tax, or legal advice, or a recommendation of any kind. You are solely responsible for all financial decisions you make. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for providing accurate registration information, for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, and for all activity that occurs under your account. New accounts must confirm their email address before they can sign in. Each person may own one business workspace (accountants may manage additional client businesses through the accountant portal). Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Accuracy of data you enter
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of any data you enter or import into the Service, including CSV imports. We do not verify or audit the data you provide, and we are not responsible for decisions made in reliance on inaccurate or incomplete data that you entered.
5. Family Sharing
The Service allows you to invite other individuals to view selected sections of your data on a read-only basis. You are solely responsible for deciding who to invite and what to share. We are not responsible for what an invited person does with information they view, or for disputes between you and anyone you invite. You can revoke a share at any time in Settings, which will end that person’s access going forward.
6. Plans, billing and cancellation
Personal use of the Service is free. Each business workspace has its own plan (Free, Starter or Professional), and accountants may subscribe to the Accountant plan, which covers a stated number of client businesses. The features and limits of each plan, and current prices in Canadian dollars, are shown on our Pricing page. We may change plans, prices or limits, and may begin enforcing plan limits that are not yet enforced, by giving you notice in the Service or by email before the change applies to you.
Paid plans renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. Payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe, and you authorize us to charge your payment method for each renewal. Applicable taxes, if any, are added at checkout.
You may cancel a paid plan at any time from Plan & Usage. After you cancel, the plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for and then does not renew. Except where required by law, fees already paid are not refunded, including for partly used periods. If a payment fails, we may limit paid features until the payment is resolved.
7. Businesses, teams and accountants
A business workspace is controlled by its owner, who decides who may access it and with what role (owner, admin, member or accountant). The owner is responsible for the people they invite and for the data entered in the business. Accountants who are invited have the access the owner grants, and must keep client information confidential and use it only for the client’s purposes.
An accountant who sets up a business on a client’s behalf confirms they are authorized to do so. The client may change that access, including by making it read-only, and remains the owner of the business and its data. The Service provides bookkeeping summaries and exports, not accounting, tax or legal advice.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, data, or system;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overburden the Service or its infrastructure;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except as permitted by law;
- Use automated means to access the Service without our prior written consent; or
- Upload malicious code or content that infringes any third party’s rights.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and underlying software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding without prior written permission. You retain ownership of the financial data you enter into the Service.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (for hosting, database, file storage, backups, email delivery, payment processing and AI-assisted reading of receipts, invoices and statements) to operate. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or issues caused by third-party providers outside our reasonable control. AI-assisted results, such as the details read from a receipt, invoice or statement and suggested categories, may contain errors and should be reviewed by you before you rely on them.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE, OUR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO, ALTERATION OF, OR LOSS OF YOUR DATA, OR ANY BREACH OF SECURITY SAFEGUARDS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, FOR USE OF THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $50).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law, including applicable consumer protection legislation, and nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights you may have as a consumer that cannot be waived by agreement.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party, including anyone you invite through Family Sharing.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe it necessary to protect the Service, other users, or ourselves. Cancelling a paid plan is described in Section 6.
15. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to any non-waivable rights you have under applicable consumer protection law, you agree that any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in Ontario, Canada, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
